They are in the city of <strong>Cahors<\/strong>, in the Occitania region, located in the <strong>Saint-Etienne Cathedral<\/strong>. We will discover them one by one, sometimes establishing an indicative <a href=\"https:\/\/doloresherrero.com\/en\/types-of-gargoyles\/\"><strong>typology<\/strong><\/a>, as it is difficult to pinpoint an exact typology for some of them, not only because of their deterioration, but also because several of them are notable for a combination of hybrid elements that give them a typology either dubious or involving a fusion, which means that some of them may belong to more than one typology.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8948\" src=\"https:\/\/doloresherrero.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Catedral-Cahors-7.jpg\" alt=\"significado de gargolas\" width=\"570\" height=\"428\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/doloresherrero.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Catedral-Cahors-7.jpg 570w, https:\/\/doloresherrero.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Catedral-Cahors-7-480x360.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 570px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We shall begin with the representation of an <a href=\"https:\/\/doloresherrero.com\/en\/unusual-animals-in-gargoyle-imagery-ii\/\"><strong>ape<\/strong><\/a>, with its right hand on his face (chin) and its left hand resting on its knee. Underneath the figure is a lump, which is not clearly visible due to deterioration and which could be a <a href=\"https:\/\/doloresherrero.com\/en\/gargoyles-and-their-small-companions\/\"><strong>small creature<\/strong><\/a>. It is common to see gargoyles with small creatures, sometimes baby animals suckling from a mammal depicted, and other times small companions with an evil or demonic content (always located in the lower, \u201dshameful\u201d parts).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The next one is very worn, but we can see the apparently human outline of the head and the hands that he is holding in his mouth. Although it is a simple gargoyle, it is very <a href=\"https:\/\/doloresherrero.com\/en\/expressiveness-in-images-of-gargoyles\/\"><strong>expressive<\/strong><\/a> because of its fierce countenance, which\u00a0 gives it a demonic appearance, and it could therefore also be considered a small <a href=\"https:\/\/doloresherrero.com\/en\/videos-the-gargoyle-and-its-iconography\/video-typologies-in-gargoyles-angels-and-demons\/\"><strong>demon<\/strong><\/a>.
